Mt. Sanbang

legend has it that the angry God of Heaven picked up the peak of Mt. Halla and threw it when a hunter accidentally touched him with his bow. this was the creation of Mt. Sanbang. Holly and I took a bus from Seogwipo city bus terminal and took us about 40 minutes to arrive. We then relaxed at Hwasun beach before heading to Cheju Sculpture Park. Tomorrow we are heading to Chunjeyun Waterfall where legend has it was named after seven nymphs who would bathe and play in the water. I love the korean legends! They are so beautiful.

Never seen the sun like I did today~!

Holly and I woke up early to see the sun rise on Sungsan's sunrise peak. I have never seen something as beautiful as this! We always take advantage of the simple things in life and never take in consideration just how beautiful the world around us really is...I recommend this to everyone!

Cheju Island

Today Holly and I arrived on Cheju island. Apparently it was formed by volcanic activity over 2 million years ago and was used as a banishment island for political prisioners in the Chosun Dynasty
Today we are going to just relax a bit then tomorrow we will be heading to Chungbang Waterfall and cave.

Yum Yum Yum!!!

Today Holly and I found this small little resturaunt, which in Korean are called shikdangs. I had chapchae, which is Korean stir fried sweet potato noodles and Holly had kongnamulgook, korean bean sprout soup. We also had some rice and had to remember to put boiling water into our rice bowls and drink once the rice had been eaten. Then we had to remember to put the spoon and chopsticks on the spot where they were placed first as well as the napkin. Haha so many rules to remember so that we don't offend anyone! We both had to try soju which is is the national liquor that is guzzled by all. It's made from potatoes and looks like vodka.
We also went to a small store and picked up Makkoli which is a drink made from rice and sorta looks like watered down milk.
Something interesting though..when we entered the resturaunt we were asked to remove our shoes.. We knew that this was customary to do in homes but apparently some resturaunts require you to do this as well!
